The Dutch lead global tech in semi-conductors, logistics and milking robots…also in China

The Netherlands excell when it comes to the tech- and robotics-industries, with top-companies like ASML (semi-conductors), VanderLande (logistic process automation) and Lely (milking robots). This should not come as a surprise, because this tiny but industrious country has a broad array of high-quality universities, both academic and in applied sciences.

In 2021, some 16% of the turnover of ASML, the world’s largest supplier of lithography machines used in manufacturing chips, was earned in China. This year (March 2022) ASML raised once again its concern that some of its intellectual property might have been stolen and used by a Chinese competitor.

Tourists who fly to Shenzhen, may come accross VanderLande’s baggage handling system at the Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport Satellite Terminal. But also in other Chinese airports including Qingdao Jiaodong Airport in China you may pick up your baggage from the Vanderlande smart logistics baggage belts.

Since 2020 Lely sells automatic milking robots from their Chinese base in Weifang in Shandong Province
