APRIL 25- MAY 8, 2022 UN Biodiversity Conference (COP 15) in Kunming, China

The first part of the UN Biodiversity Conference COP15 was held online in October 2021. The second part will be held live in Kunming, China, between April 25thand May 8th. The need to come together as United Nations on the topic of biodiversity is great because, despite on-going efforts, biodiversity is deteriorating worldwide. And what’s more, this decline is projected to worsenwhen no action is undertaken to tackle the problem. Up to half a million species are under imminent threat of extinction over the coming decades. COP15will convene governments from around the world to agree to a new set of goals for nature over the next decade. A post-2020 global biodiversity framework and action plan will have to help governments end biodiversity loss, in order to secure the future for people and planet.
