April 10, 2022 Presidential Elections in France
As with many elections, the outcome of the French presidential election in April 2022 greatly depends on the hot issues that will be debated in the run-up to the election. Are they issues such as the corona crisis or migration, on which the incumbent Emmanuel Macron can be criticised, for example by populist presidential candidate Marine le Pen of the Rassemblement National, or by the radical-right presidential candidate Éric Zemmour, with his identity-based nationalism? Or will Emmanuel Macron be able to capitalize on his strong performance in the international arena, e.g. during the French EU Presidency or in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine? That way he may be reinstalled as President of the French Republic for another 5 years in May 2022. Whatever the case, the issues and themes that will be leading in the electoral debates will have a great impact on the outcome of the elections.
