April 1, 23rd EU-CHINA SUMMIT
The summit takes place on April 1st, 2022, via video conference. It is a summit in the literal sense, meaning that the EU is represented by President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, while China is represented by Prime Minister Li Keqiang and President Xi Jinping.
Besides the pressing topic of the Russian-Ukrainian war and its destabilizing effect on the international order, there will be talks on the topic of trade relationships, including an EU-China investment treaty called Comprehensive Agreement on Investment (CAI).
